About WPA

Our purpose

Wandandian Progress Association is a voluntary, not-for-profit, non-political, non-sectarian body of local citizens that represents the residents and ratepayers of Wandandian. The Association is Shoalhaven Council’s designated Community Consultative Body for the Wandandian, Bewong, and Jerrawangala Communities.

Although there was a Wandandian Progress Association formed in the late 1890s, the current Association was formed in 1952 to undertake the fund-raising for, and building of,  a schoolmaster’s residence following a special meeting of the then operating Wandandian School P&C Association. Since that time the Association has undertaken many other projects, including the building of the community hall by volunteer labour.

The Association also owns the local Community Hall which it hires out to the public for a variety of functions. Not being owned by Shoalhaven City Council its repair and maintenance are provided by the volunteers who make up the Association.
