April Home Harvest fruit and veggie swap cancelled.

As many of our veggie gardens have been a bit trashed lately as a result of the constant rain, we have decided to cancel our Harvest Fruit and Veggie Swap tomorrow, 5th April.
However our regular monthly WPA meeting will go ahead and our Guest Speaker will be from H Parsons Funeral Directors. Anyone who interested to know more about H Parsons planned development of Dimitris is invited to attend the meeting which commences at 6:00 pm Tuesday 5th April.

H. Parsons Funeral Directors expands into the Shoalhaven area.

*MEDIA RELEASE*

H. Parsons Funeral Directors, the Illawarra’s only 100 percent Australian family-owned and operated funeral director is expanding into the Shoalhaven area. H. Parsons has recently invested in an existing, non-operating function centre located in the village of Wandandian. Subject to DA approval from Shoalhaven City Council, H. Parsons will transform the premises into a funeral home with a chapel and catering facilities.

“We are genuinely excited about this opportunity to contribute and serve the Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay and surrounding communities,” said Alan Parsons, Managing Director of H. Parsons Funeral Directors.

“H. Parsons will not be building a crematorium on the site,” Alan stressed. “Our investment in Wandandian will mean the families of the Bay and Basin area will now have access to a modern, clean and comfortable location for their funeral services without having to travel as far.”

“Having operated in the Illawarra since 1893 as a family run business, we have built deep connections with our communities, and we are committed to giving back. We do this through the Parsons’ Pillars of Environmental Sustainability, Social Responsibility, Local Community, and Local Business. This commitment will be continued in Wandandian and throughout the surrounding areas.

Alan is proud of the work his company is doing under the environmental sustainability initiative. “We will be installing solar panels on the Wandandian site as part of our company’s commitment to achieving a net zero-emission target in the future.” The company has already installed close to 400 panels across six sites with more to come.

“We are currently undertaking detailed planning with local drafts people in order to get the Development Application into Council as soon as possible. The great thing about this location at Wandandian is that the current zoning for the site allows for a funeral home. The site is well situated, and we believe our operation will enhance the township.”

We have also begun talks with local builders, tradespeople and suppliers to deliver the minor renovations to the existing function centre by repurposing it to be more suitable for funeral services and associated functions with catering.”

“H. Parsons is the leading funeral provider in the Illawarra, and we are committed to delivering personalised, dignified and affordable funeral services to the families that we serve. Our staff are trained using industry best practice and our contemporary facilities provide advanced and innovative technology unique to Parsons. Our team is looking forward to delivering exceptional funeral services that we are renowned for to the Shoalhaven and surrounding communities,” said Alan.
